Five News Stories We Can Do Without

I normally don't write articles for this website that don't directly have to do with the LGBT Community, but on this day after browsing the "Top" News Stories I couldn't help myself.

We are constantly forced to read about celebrities regardless of where we are or what time of day it is so I would like to make a plea to the news media to please give us a moment to collect our thoughts before moving onto the next huge celebrity news story. But, there are some that we are just sick of hearing about so let's break it down for mainstream media, and hope that they eventually get the point.

5. Lindsay Lohan - Enough already. Lindsay Lohan hasn't done anything worth talking about in her career in years. Remember when she was actually considered the "it" girl? The possible next Julia Roberts? Well, those days are long behind her. She is now just tabloid fodder, another Hollywood actress who through her own doing, destroyed her promising career. So why are we still talking about her? Because she's a train wreck? What other reason could there be? There isn't one, but let's give all of us a break and just let her go away peacefully into the great Hollywood garbage heap where so many have ended up before her.

4. Michael Jackson - This is it? I wish this was it, but I think it's far from over. Honestly, the way he's reported in the news, it's almost like he's still alive. Remember Rest In Peace? That only applies to average people like you and me. When it comes to celebrities they don't even get a chance after death to find peace. The one thing that irritates me about this story is the same people who were calling him a child molester years ago, are now revereing him like he's the second coming of Jesus Christ. But what would the world be without hypocrites?

3. The Gosselins - Jon and Kate. I have never wanted two people to leave the country and move to Antarctica more than these two. They are media whores. I wouldn't be surprised if they got back together after all is said and done. You never know what's real and what's not anymore in Hollywood. The only people losing out in this saga are their children. They are the ones we should all feel sorry for.

2. Carrie Prejean - Forget the whole pageant question. Let's talk about Carrie Prejean for what she really is. She's first and foremost a moron. Yes, I said it, because it's true. She has created a person not based in reality. She tried to pass herself off as an ultra-conservative woman against gay marriage when in fact she's just another pretty face trying to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry. Too bad, she did it making sex tapes and lying to the public. I could definitely see her doing a talk show on FOX News where she interviews things with the same level of intelligence as she has, like coffee tables or bricks. Better yet, she could team up with her idol Sarah Palin, and they could run for President and Vice-President in 2012 running on the slogan "Dumb and Dumber." Have you seen the Larry King interview? The only thing inappropriate when it comes to Carrie Prejean, is Carrie Prejean.

1. The Balloon Boy - Had enough of this story yet? Well, I'm sure it's far from over. This could be the greatest hoax ever played on the media. This is also another example of heterosexual parents who shouldn't have children. Here we have two people who used their children to try to get media attention, and they did, but certainly not the kind of attention they bargained for. I do have one suggestion though, how about the next time they decide to set the balloon afloat we let Lindsay Lohan, The Gosselins and Carrie Prejean hop in it with them and float off into the atmosphere. Now there's a story worth telling.
